Facilities
Laboratories:

The pre, Para Clinical and Clinical departments are having fully equipped and well maintained laboratories. They serve the teaching and the Diagnositc procedures. The departments of Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Radiology, Medicine, Anaesthesiology and Oerthopaedics possess modern high-tech instruments are mentioned earlier. The diagnostic procedures that the carried out are on par with the prescribed International Standards.

Central Library:

AIMS is proud of good and comprehensive central library with most modern facilities catering to the academic needs of students and the teaching community. It is updated with modern devices of information technology. It is housed in a spacious building of 1194.90 sq. mts having following sections.

UG's Section: It is well furnished and the seating arrangements are made in the form with partitions so as the student can pursue without being disturbed by fellow students.

UG's Section: The reference sections for the staff members are also existing. The Library is well illuminated and ventilated, It is organized and maintained by qualified staff members. The library collections includes texts, references, monographs, Govt. publications, dissertations, reports, pamphlets, periodicals and audio visual cassettes.

The total number of books ard back volumes of journals is 13,000. The periodicals subscribed annually for the year 2002 are 144 out of which 75 numbers are Indian and 69 numbers are foreign in nature. In addition, 12 popular magazines are being subscribed periodically.

Service available for the users in the library are the following:

Literature search, Bibliographies, current awareness services, selective dissemination of information, abstracting and indexing services, Medlars / Medline, E-mail / Internet services, consultancy, Photo copying, reference and referral services are also available.

In addition to the aforesaid library services, the digital library facility is introduced for the advancement of disseminating and retrieval of health science information to the users on modern lines by means of computer communication / networking.

In addition to the central library, the library facilities are also provided in the men/'s and women's hostels, AH & RC supplemented with the departmental libraries. The library works between 9am to 10pm on all working days including Sundays and general holidays and between 9am to 12 mid night during the time of University examination.

Calendar of Events, Syllabus and Scheme of Examination

They are laid down by RGUHS and MCI
The Booklet containing existing rules governing admission, the curricula and the scheme of examination can be obtained from the administrative office at the time of admission.

Admission:

UG: The criteria for admissions are in accordance with the rules of RGUHS and regulations of MCI, New Delhi. The number of admissions is monitored by Govt. of Karnataka through CET and Govt. Orders issued from time to time.

PG: The criteria for admissions are in accordance with the rules of RGUHS and regulations of MCI, New Delhi. The number of admissions is monitored by Govt. of Karnataka through entrance test and Govt. Orders issued from time to time.

Staff of the College:

The teaching faculty attached to the college and the hospital are qualified, experienced, and research orientated. They are governed by the rules of MCI & RGUHS. They are assisted by the Lab Technicians, Para Medical Staff and Non technical personnel in accordance with the rules of MCI & RGUHS

Library branch in the hospital:

To facilitates the staff and students to have easy access, a separate library branch has been opened which opens till 11pm for the staff members and Post-graduate students to update themselves with textbook and latest journals in concerned subject.

Lecture hall / Demonstration halls:

There are six spacious lecture halls existing in the college and 4 lecture halls existing in AH & RC. Two of which accommodate around 200 students while the latter can accommodate 100 students. Each lecture hall is well ventilated and illuminated with comfortable seating arrangements. They are provided with audiovisual instruments.

In addition to the above lecture halls to facilitate and promote teaching and training, each department is provided with seminar halls with Audio-Visual aids.
